All you need to know: WBS’s visit to the Food Africa Expo 2019

  • 21-11-2019

A few weeks ago, WBS had the pleasure of attending the Food Africa Expo. Food Africa is the first specialized Food & Beverages exhibition in Egypt.

This exceptional exhibition takes place in December of every year at Egypt’s International Exhibition Center. Who can attend Food Africa Expo?

Anyone! However, Food Africa is perfect for you if you’re a wholesaler, importer, distributor, retailer, a hypermarket, or just interested in the food industry.

This year it took place from the 9th until the 11th of December. The opening ceremony took place in the presence of Egypt’s Prime Minister.

According to Food Africa’s official Facebook page, 500 national and international companies exhibited their products this year, from 31 different countries.

On the other hand, the buyers were estimated to be more than 600 from 60 different countries, including Europe, Africa, America, the Middle East, and Arab Countries. That is really impressive, don’t you think? It sure gave the Egyptian economy a good boost.

We believe that it is always good to meet people with the same passion as yours, especially when they are from all over the world. It opens your eyes to different cultures, ideas, and possibilities. We got to network with a lot of industry leaders and professionals over the course of 3 days. The WBS team was really inspired by all the great people they got to meet and work they got to see. All the conferences, speeches, and success stories were really informative and inspiring as well. Lots of critical topics were discussed such as food loss, waste production and management, sustainable packaging, future trends of packaging, new export rules and regulations, and many other topics. We also had so much fun watching live cooking shows by some of Egypt’s top chefs like Chef Mustafa El Refay, Chef Salma Saleh, Chef Shermeen Saad, Chef Omar Hamada, Chef Mohamed Salah, and Chef Mustafa Seif.

It’s always good to see someone doing what they believe in and succeeding in it. The Food Africa’s official Facebook page started announcing for the 2020 expo and we couldn’t be more excited. We sure are looking forward to the next one. See you all there, maybe?
